Faith by Default!

     Today, there seems to be among many a "default" mentality concerning Christianity.  Many believe they are Christians simply because they were raised in a Christian home or because they've claimed the label for themselves.

     Scripture warns, however, that many who think they stand may actually fall, and Jesus warned that, in judgement, many who claim Him will not be claimed by Him!  Shouldn't we, then, all take a sober look at ourselves and our beliefs and be not merely willing but also quick to move toward the light of Truth and out of any darkness?  Are our eternal souls not precious enough in our own eyes (for they certainly are in the eyes of our Creator) to warrant our diligent and sincere efforts in truly understanding the faith we claim and whether or not our claim is empty?

     True sonship comes not by birth but by re-birth; we are not weighed, ultimately, by rules, but by relationship; and scripture's promises toward us are purchased not by boast, but by blood.  Many of us have believed not what was given to us by God in scripture, but what was given to us by tradition, reason, or example.

     We must, however, all seek for ourselves if we are to truly find, and we must become for ourselves if we are to truly be.  True faith is not ours by default!

     My efforts here will never adequately communicate faith to you, and they are not intended to!  I can only communicate truth - YOU must follow that truth to its Source.  You must find faith for yourself!  Please take what you find here as a launching platform to start you on a path of seeking and finding God and His Truth.

     Rest assured that God has promised us in scripture that if we seek Him with our whole hearts, we will find Him! (Jeremiah 29:11-13)  We can come close to Him, and He will come close to us! (James 4:6-8)  He is faithful to us and will not leave you in the dark!
